Change the panel after the roof is laid out
Panels on the roof are placed in one panel’s size. If you pick a panel of another size afterwards, the old ones turn red and the calculator stops. Press Re-lay out in the roof editor to place the new panel on those faces.
The panel is shared by the calculator and the roof editor. A different panel is often a different size, and the old layout may not fit — so Cali-Graf doesn’t just multiply the old count by the new wattage.
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| The panel changed to … | You’ll see this at the top of the roof editor. The panels laid out for the old size are red. Press Re-lay out: Cali-Graf fills those faces again with the new panel and tells you how many fit. |
| The panel changed after the roof was laid out: … | The calculator shows this instead of results. Open the roof editor with Edit design ↗ and press Re-lay out — or choose the panel the roof was laid out for. |
What Re-lay out does
It fills again only the faces that have panels of the old size, the same way Fill roof (X) does: around setbacks, pathways and obstacles, in the orientation you picked. Panels you moved by hand on those faces are placed anew. Faces with no old-size panels stay as they are.
Avoid it
Choose the panel before filling the roof — see Choose the panel for the layout. To compare two panel models for the customer, make a copy of the calculation and change the panel in the copy: Compare options for one customer.
