Compare options for one customer

Use Make a copy to give the same customer a second or third option — with a battery, another panel or a smaller system. The copy keeps the home, roof and inputs; each option gets its own results and its own proposal PDF.

Customers often want to see choices side by side: with or without a battery, a premium panel against a standard one, a full roof against a smaller system. Each choice is an option — a copy of the calculation that you change.

Make an option

  1. Copy the calculation

In Calculations, open the row’s menu (More actions) and pick Make a copy. You’ll see Copy created — a new option for the same customer; press Open.

  2. Change what differs

The copy already has the home, the roof design, the usage, the equipment and the price. Change only what makes this option different — add a battery, pick another panel, remove panels in the roof editor.

  3. Calculate and make its PDF

Results and PDFs aren’t copied, so press Calculate, then Save PDF.

How options work

  • The first calculation is Option 1; copies are numbered Option 2, Option 3 and so on. In Calculations the option follows the street.
  • Each option has its own copy of the roof. Removing panels in Option 2 doesn’t touch Option 1.
  • The customer’s name is shared: change it in one option and it changes in all of them.
  • Moving an option to Trash leaves the others as they are.

Options in the proposal

Each option makes its own PDF. The option’s name is on the cover, and on the approval page the customer signs for that option — for example “I approve Option 2”. Give the customer the PDFs together so they can compare them.
