Select, move and delete faces
Pick Select (S) and click a face to open its settings. Drag a corner to reshape it, press Delete to remove it, and drag empty space to move the map. Undo brings back any change.
Faces rarely come out perfect on the first try. Every corner can be moved later, and every change can be undone.
Select and reshape
Pick Select
Press Select or S.
Click the face
Its settings open on the right: pitch, direction and sun. You can also click the face in the list on the right.
Drag a corner
Drag any corner to its right place. A corner shared with the next face moves for both faces, so they stay joined.
Delete a face
Select it and press Delete, or press the cross next to it in the list on the right. You’ll see Face deleted · ⌘Z to undo. Panels on a deleted face no longer sit on the roof and don’t count in the calculation — fill the roof again or delete them.
Move around
Drag empty space to move the map — in any tool. Hold Space and drag to move it while drawing. Scroll to zoom; press H to center on the house again. Esc deselects.
When a change is refused
The editor won’t let a face become broken. If a corner move would do that, it puts the corner back and says why:
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| Face … would cross itself | Move the corner so the edges don’t cross. |
| Faces … and … would overlap. To divide a face, draw a line across it from edge to edge. | Faces can share edges but can’t overlap. To split a face, use a line — see Draw roof faces. |
| A face would collapse — put the corner somewhere else | The corner is too close to another one of the same face. |
| The outline would cross itself — the corner went back | Drag the corner along another path. |
