Panels on a garage, ADU or second building
Trace the faces of a garage, an ADU or any other building on the same aerial image, the same way as the house. All faces go into one calculation, each with its own pitch, direction and shade.
The main roof is full, or faces the wrong way — the detached garage faces south. You can use both in the same design.
Add the other building
Find it on the image
Drag the map to the garage or ADU. The aerial image covers an area about 70 m (230 ft) across around the home, so buildings on the same lot are on it.
Trace its faces
Pick Roof (P) and trace each face of its roof, as on the house — see Draw roof faces. Cali-Graf measures their pitch and direction from Google heights the same way.
Place the panels
Fill roof (X) fills every face that doesn’t face north, on all buildings at once; Fill this face with panels does one face.
In the calculation
All the faces, on every building, form one system for one home and one utility meter. Each face is its own array with its own pitch, direction and shade — see How the roof gets into the calculation.
