Some panels aren’t counted
The calculator counts a panel only when it sits on a roof face with a pitch and doesn’t overlap another panel. If some don’t, a line under the roof numbers says how many and why — fix them in the roof editor.
Under the roof numbers in Roof, the calculator shows a line like 2 panels aren’t counted (2 off the roof faces) — fix in the roof editor. Open the editor with Edit design ↗ and fix the reason it names.
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| … off the roof faces | The panels sit outside every face — often after a face was deleted or redrawn: deleting a face doesn’t delete its panels. Drag them onto a face, or select them and delete them. |
| … on a face without a pitch | Google couldn’t measure that face. Select it and set the pitch — see Roof pitch: measured or set by hand. |
| … on top of another panel | Two panels share one spot. Delete one of them. |
Red panels are counted
A red panel — in a fire setback, on an obstacle or over the edge — still goes into the calculation. Fix red panels before you make the proposal: Why panels turn red.
Then calculate again
The calculator picks up the fixed roof by itself. If you already calculated, press Calculate again.
