Fix a problem
Something doesn’t work as expected? Start here.
- Calculate doesn’t workCalculate runs only when the calculation has everything it needs — an address on a supported utility, a roof with panels, a full year of usage and matching equipment. The message under the button says what’s missing.
- Numbers look wrong: a checklistWhen the bill, production or savings don’t look right, check the inputs in order — the home and utility, the usage, the rate plan, the roof, the equipment, shade, the price and the rate increase. Most surprises come from one of them.
- Address not found or no aerial dataIf the address isn’t found, add the city and ZIP or pick it from the list. If Google has no roof data or imagery for the home, it can’t be designed in Cali-Graf for now. Each message says which case you’re in.
- Green Button file not acceptedCali-Graf takes a Green Button file only when it has 12 months of the home’s own hourly usage. The message under the upload says what’s wrong — too short, too many gaps, damaged or edited, or from a meter that already has solar.
- Can’t draw or close a roof faceTo draw, pick Roof (P) and click the corners of one face, then the first corner again. If the face won’t close, the message at the bottom of the map says why — too few corners, a crossing outline, a face that’s too small.
- Some panels aren’t countedThe calculator counts a panel only when it sits on a roof face with a pitch and doesn’t overlap another panel. If some don’t, a line under the roof numbers says how many and why — fix them in the roof editor.
- Old imagery, a new roof or trees that are goneThe aerial photo and heights show the home on the date in the top bar of the roof editor. If the roof, the house or the trees have changed since, trace what’s there now, set the pitch by hand and, for removed trees, turn off Shade analysis.
- Changes not saved or a design came back differentCali-Graf saves every change on its own. If the connection drops, changes wait in this browser and are sent later. If two tabs or devices edit the same roof, the newer saved version wins — History brings back an earlier one.
