Find the house
In the Roof section, type the customer’s address and pick it from the list. Cali-Graf places the home, finds its utility and loads Google’s roof data — then you can design the roof.
Everything in a calculation starts from the address: the utility and its rates, the weather, the aerial image and the roof heights.
Find it
Type the address
Open Roof and start typing in Search a customer address — the house number and the first letters of the street are enough. For Los Angeles County a list of matching addresses drops down; pick the right one with the mouse or the arrow keys and Enter.
Press Find if there’s no list
Outside Los Angeles County, or for an address that isn’t in the list, type the full address with the city and ZIP and press Find.
Wait for the roof
You’ll see Loading the roof from Google Solar…, then a satellite view of the home. Under the street name in the left column, Cali-Graf shows the utility, the city and ZIP, and the date of the aerial image.
Design the roof
Press Design roof ↗ under the address — the roof editor opens in a new tab.
If it doesn’t work
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| Address not found | Check the spelling and include the city and ZIP, then press Find again. |
| Google has no roof data for this address, so the roof editor can’t open it | Google doesn’t have 3D roof data for this home yet — this happens with new construction and some rural areas. The roof can’t be designed in Cali-Graf for now. |
| tariff not supported yet (LADWP and SCE only) | The home is on a utility Cali-Graf can’t calculate yet. See Supported utilities and areas. |
Need a different address after you’ve drawn the roof? Cali-Graf offers to start a new calculation for it — see Start a new calculation.
