Enter time-of-use kWh from SCE bills
SCE bills on time-of-use plans split each month’s kWh into on-peak, mid-peak, off-peak and super off-peak. Enter that split and Cali-Graf matches the customer’s own balance of expensive and cheap hours.
Two homes with the same monthly total can use power at very different times — one mostly in the evening peak, another at midday. On time-of-use plans the SCE bill shows how the kWh split across the periods of the day. With that split, Cali-Graf doesn’t have to guess.
Before you start
- An SCE home on a time-of-use plan — TOU-D-4-9PM, TOU-D-5-8PM or TOU-D-PRIME. The Domestic plan has no periods.
- The customer’s bills with the kWh for each time-of-use period.
Enter the split
Turn on the time-of-use columns
In Usage under Bills, tick Time-of-use kWh from the bill (On / Mid / Off / Super off-peak). The table gets columns On, Mid, Off and Super off.
Copy the kWh for each period
Type the kWh for each period as printed on the bill. The bill’s total becomes the sum of its periods, just like on the bill. Leave a period empty if the bill doesn’t have it in that month.
What it changes
Cali-Graf builds the customer’s hourly usage from similar homes — see How the hourly usage profile is built. With the split, it adjusts each similar home so that its kWh in every period match the bill: the shape of each day stays typical, but the share of expensive and cheap hours is the customer’s own. That makes the bill today and the savings closer to reality.
