Enter usage from bills
In Usage, pick Bills and type the kWh from each bill of the last 12 months — 6 bills for LADWP, 12 for SCE. Match the dates to the customer’s bills with Edit dates. Bills give Cali-Graf the shape of the customer’s year.
A summer with air conditioning and a mild winter look very different on the bills, and the savings depend on when the home uses power. That’s why bills beat a single yearly total.
Before you start
- The customer’s bills for the last 12 months — paper, PDF or the account page on the utility’s website. You need the kWh used in each billing period.
- The home is found in Roof: the billing periods depend on the utility.

Open Usage and pick Bills
The table has a row per billing period for the last 12 months: 6 bills, every 2 months for LADWP or 12 monthly bills for SCE.
Match the dates
If the customer’s bills start and end on other days, press Edit dates and change them. When you change where one bill ends, the next one starts right after it. Press Done editing dates when they match; Reset dates to last 12 months puts the standard dates back.
Type the kWh
Type the kWh from each bill, or drag the slider next to it. Enter moves to the next bill. Have the numbers in a spreadsheet or an email? Copy the whole column and paste it into the first bill — Cali-Graf fills the rows down.
Check the total
Under the table you’ll see the total for the year and how many bills are filled in, like 6 of 6 bills. Every bill needs a number before you can calculate.

| … a year is unusually high for a home — check the number | Often an extra zero. Some large homes really do use this much; if so, carry on. |
| Fill kWh for all … bills (… missing), or switch to Yearly total. | Every billing period needs its kWh. Don’t have a full year? See Fewer than 12 months of usage. |
| kWh can't be negative — check … | A bill has a minus sign — remove it. A negative number on a bill usually means the home already exports solar power. |
| Check the bill dates: each period must end after it starts. | Press Edit dates and fix the dates of that bill. |
