Add a battery
In Battery, pick a model, set the number of units and the operating mode, then enter the battery price in Price & settings. The battery is optional and shared with the roof editor.
A battery stores solar power for the evening or for an outage. What it saves depends on the utility — see Battery operating modes.
Add one
Open Battery
In the calculator, open Battery. No battery means solar only.
Pick the model
Choose from the list or type in Search batteries, for example “Powerwall”. Each card shows the usable energy in kWh.
Set the number of units
Use the minus and plus next to Units — from 1 to 4. The line below shows the total, like “2 × 5 kWh = 10.0 kWh usable”.
Choose the operating mode
Pick it in Operating mode — see Battery operating modes.
Enter the price
Open Price & settings and type Battery price (all units) — the price for all units together.
Good to know
- The battery is checked against the inverter — see Equipment compatibility check.
- Powerwall 3 has a solar inverter inside; with it the inverter and the battery are one unit — see Tesla Powerwall 3 and other hybrid inverters.
- Want to show the customer both? Copy the calculation and add the battery in the copy: Compare options for one customer.
