Equipment
Choose panels, inverters and batteries that work together.
- Choose panelsIn Panels, pick a panel from the list or search every panel on the California Energy Commission list. Each card shows the power, size, area, efficiency and type; the panel is shared with the roof editor.
- Choose the inverterIn Inverter, pick a microinverter, a string inverter or a hybrid like Powerwall 3, or search the whole CEC list. The generic inverter is fine for a first estimate, but the proposal needs the exact model.
- Equipment compatibility checkCali-Graf checks that the panel works with the inverter and the inverter with the battery, from the manufacturers’ datasheets. Matching models are marked Works with; a conflict stops the calculation until you choose matching equipment.
- Add a batteryIn Battery, pick a model, set the number of units and the operating mode, then enter the battery price in Price & settings. The battery is optional and shared with the roof editor.
- Battery operating modesThe mode sets when the battery gives back its energy — Time-of-use holds it for the peak hours, Self-powered uses it any time, Backup only keeps it for outages. With SCE a battery lowers the bill; with LADWP its value is backup power.
- Tesla Powerwall 3 and other hybrid invertersPowerwall 3 is a battery with a solar inverter inside — the panels connect straight to it. Pick Powerwall 3 both in Inverter and in Battery; the number of units in Battery is also the number of inverters taking solar.
- Equipment details: specs, temperature, warrantyThe info button on any panel, inverter or battery card opens all its specs — power, electrical data, temperature behavior, warranty and degradation, and the parameters the calculation uses — with the source of every number.
