Equipment compatibility check
Cali-Graf checks that the panel works with the inverter and the inverter with the battery, from the manufacturers’ datasheets. Matching models are marked Works with; a conflict stops the calculation until you choose matching equipment.
Not every panel works with every inverter. A panel whose voltage on a cold morning is above the inverter’s limit can damage it, and a too-strong panel loses power at midday. The check catches that before it reaches a proposal.
What the marks mean
| Mark | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Works with | Within every limit in the manufacturers’ documents. |
| Not ideal with your … | It works, but loses some power — for example the panel is stronger than the inverter usually takes, so it clips at the sunniest hours. |
| Doesn’t work | Outside a hard limit — the panel’s voltage in the cold or its current is above what the inverter allows. |
Panel voltage is checked at −10 °C (14 °F), the coldest mornings in Los Angeles County.
When you pick something that doesn’t match
Choose what to keep
Cali-Graf asks What do you want to keep? — for example Keep the inverter or Keep the new panel.
Pick the other one again
The one you don’t keep is chosen again — the matching options are marked green. Pick one marked Works with.
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| The panel and the inverter don’t work together | Press Change the inverter or Change the panel and pick a matching one. |
| The battery and the inverter don’t work together | Press Change the battery or change the inverter. |
| No compatibility data for this model yet — check the manufacturer’s datasheet. | The model isn’t in Cali-Graf’s compatibility list. Check the limits in both datasheets yourself. |
