Bills by billing period
Numbers by period, at the bottom of the result, lists every billing period of the first year with solar — its dates, usage, solar production, and the bill today and with solar. LADWP has 6 two-month periods, SCE 12 months.
Open Numbers by period under the charts. The Bills and Energy charts show the same numbers as bars.
| Column | What it is |
|---|---|
| Period | The billing period as entered from the customer’s bills. |
| Forecast dates | The same period one year later — the first year with solar. |
| Usage, kWh | The home’s usage in the period — from the bills, or split from the yearly total. |
| Solar, kWh | What the panels make in the period. |
| Bill today | The bill on the current rate, without solar. |
| With solar | The bill with solar under the utility’s rules. |
| With battery | SCE homes with a battery: the bill with solar and the battery. LADWP gives the battery’s effect for the year only. |
Why the sum can differ from the tiles
The yearly bills in the tiles above are the middle of many simulated hourly usage patterns that fit these bills; this table shows one typical pattern, so its sum can differ slightly. See Why the first-year forecast is a range.
SCE: the true-up
With SCE solar, part of the cost comes once a year at the true-up, not in the monthly bills. When the true-up comes to a dollar or more, the note under the table gives the amount — it’s included in the yearly bill above. See How the bill after solar is calculated: SCE NEM 3.0.
