Set the system price

In Price & settings, type the solar price per watt — Cali-Graf multiplies it by the system size — plus the battery price and any extras. The total system cost goes into the payback, the 25-year savings and the proposal.

Most installers quote solar in dollars per watt. Cali-Graf takes that number and works out the rest.

Enter the price

  1. Open Price & settings

In the calculator, open Price & settings.

  2. Type the solar price

Type it in Solar price, in $ per watt — for example 3.10. Under the field you’ll see what it comes to for this roof, like “$29,326 for 9.46 kW DC”.

  3. Add the battery and the extras

With a battery, type Battery price (all units). Extra work such as a main panel upgrade goes in Extras (roof, panel upgrade…) — see Add extras: panel upgrade, roof work, trenching.

  4. Check the total

Total system cost adds it all up. That’s the price in the result and in the proposal.

How the price is used

  • The solar price follows the roof: add or remove panels and the price changes with the system size.
  • The total goes into Payback and 25-year savings in the result, and into the price page of the proposal.
  • No federal tax credit is subtracted — see Federal tax credit.
